Question & Answer Session

(Duration – 46 minutes)

Mohammad Naik: JazakAllah. Thank you for your patient listening. Now we would have the question and answer session. To analyze the similarities between Hinduism and Islam adequately for all those present here today in the limited time that we have available now, we would like to following rules top be followed during the question and answer session.

3 mikes have been provided in the ground, one next to the stage for the gents, one on my right and one on my left and one mike has been provided for the ladies in the centre aisle in the front section of the ladies. The fourth question would be allowed from the slips. Please stand in the queue in front of the mikes if you wish to put forward a question to the speaker and speak in the mike only when the mike handling assistants hand you the mike.

Your questions should be on the topic ‘Similarities between Hinduism and Islam’ only. Questions not relevant to the topic including any general question on religion will not be permitted. Kindly state your question briefly and to the point. Only one question at a time per questioner will be allowed for your second question you would have to queue up at the back of the row and await your second chance which seeing the time limitations I am doubtful you may get.

We will allow 1 question at a time on each of the mikes in clockwise rotation. The first question from the ladies mike, the second question from the brothers who queue up on my right and the third question from the microphone on my left down here, the fourth question will be from the slip and we again rotate in serial order in similar fashion. Written question on slip papers which are available from the volunteers in the aisles and in the gangways can be sent up through the seating volunteers up to the stage on my left and the stage management director would handover the same to me.

In the interest of avoiding wasting time on irrelevant issues and to ensure a more educative and interesting question and answer session, my decision to allow or disallow questions which are irrelevant will be final. In this I would also be assisted by the director of stage management and one of the officials from the police who have been deputed by DCP Mr. Himanshu Rai.

Kindly state your name and profession before putting forward your question so that the speaker can give you an adequate level response. Can we have the first question from the sisters please?

Questioner: I am Mrs. Rangwala. You have praised Raja Ram Mohan Roy in your talk. Do you know that he was against Purdah? Why does Islam degrade women by keeping her behind the veil? Isn’t a Hindu woman modest in her Salwar Kameez?

Dr. Zakir: The sister’s asked a very good question that I spoke highly about Raja Ram Mohan Roy in my talk and about the reform he brought in Hinduism but he even spoke against the Hijab system that’s there in Islam so do I know about that? And why does Islam degrade the woman by keeping her behind the veil and is a Hindu woman who does not wear a veil and wears a Salvaar Kameez, is she modest?

Sister you should understand that if I appreciate certain points of a person that does not mean I agree with all his points, for example 4 years back, 4 years back the Home Minister of India, Mr. L.K. Advani he suggested the law that the rapist should be put to death and I appreciate it that he agreed with the Islamic philosophy that a rapist should be put to death but when I appreciated Mr. L.K. Advani that doesn’t mean I agree with him totally but I do agree with his suggestion that a rapist should be put to death same as Islam says. Similarly Raja Ram Mohan Roy, I appreciate him, he is a great reformer, I really respect him. I also know that he was against the Hijab system which is mentioned in Islam.

Now today if we analyze the modesty level of a human being, it differs depending upon the surroundings they live in. for example there are certain Muslim countries in the Arab land who say that if anyone looks at a woman or stares at a woman, it is considered immodest. Anyone stares at a woman, it is immodest. In India as long as you don’t touch a woman, you are modest. Therefore while they greet, the ladies and the gents, they fold their hands but they don’t touch anyone. If you don’t touch a woman, you are modest. In some of the western countries shaking hands is modest, if a man shakes hands with a lady, it is modest and if you don’t shake hands it is considered that you are not friendly. In other western countries, if you kiss a woman, that is modesty if you go beyond kissing, it is immodest. Some western countries as long as the man and the lady, anything they do, as long as they do willingly, it is modest.

So different people have different levels of modesty depending upon where they live for example in America if a lady wears a mini skirt or shorts, she is considered modest but if the same girl if she comes to India and she wears a miniskirt and shorts we will say she is immodest.

When I gave a talk in America there was an American who told me “Brother Zakir! Do you know that Indian woman are immodest?” I was shocked! I didn’t agree with him. He said “Of course, the Indian women when they wear the Saree, they expose their belly” So according to the Americans exposing the belly is immodest. So depending upon different people the level of modesty keeps on changing.

Let us try and analyze what our Creator, All Mighty God have to speak about modesty. Allah says in the Qur’an in

Surah Nur ch. no. 24 verse no. 30

“Say to the believing man that he should lower his gaze and guard his modesty.”

Allah first speaks about the modesty for a man and then for the woman. Whenever a man looks at a woman, any brazen thought comes in his mind, he should lower his gaze.

There was a Muslim who was staring at a girl for a long time; I told “Brother, what are you doing? It is haraam to stare at a woman!” he told me “Our beloved Prophet said: “The first glance is allowed, the second is prohibited” I have not completed half my glance” what did the Prophet mean when he said that the first glance is allowed, the second is prohibited? What he meant was that if you unintentionally look at a woman, do not intentionally look at her to feast on her beauty, that does not means you can look at a woman for 10 minutes without blinking and say I have not completed my glance.

The next verse speaks about the Hijab for the women. Allah says in

Surah Nur ch. no. 24 verse no. 31

“Say to the believing women that she should lower her gaze and guard her modesty and display not her beauty except what appears ordinary off. And draw her veil, a head covering, over the bosoms except in front of her father, her husband, her sons…”

And a big list of Mahrams who she cannot marry is given.

And the criteria for Hijaab is given in the Qur’an and the Sahih Ahadith.

There are basically 6 criterias.

The first is the extent i.e. the extent for the man is from the naval to the knee. For the woman, the complete body should be covered; the only part that can be seen is the face and the hands up to the wrist. The remaining 5 criterias are the same for the man and the woman.

The second criteria is, the clothes they wear, it should not be transparent so that you could see through.

The third is, it should not be tight fitting so that it reveals the figure.

Fourth, it should not be so glamorous so that it attracts the opposite sex.

Fifth, it should not resemble that of the opposite sex.

And sixth, it should be clothes which are signs of the unbelievers.

And the reason for Hijab is given in

Surah Ahzaab ch. 33 verse 59 in which Allah says

“O Prophet! Tell to your wives and your daughters and the believing women that whenever they go abroad they should put on a clock so that they shall be recognized and it will prevent them from being molested”

Suppose there are 2 twin sisters who are very beautiful, who are equally beautiful and if they are walking down the streets of Bombay, down the streets of Pedder Road and one of the twin sisters, she is wearing the western clothes, a mini skirts and shorts and the other twin sister, she is wearing the Islamic Hijab, the complete body covered except the face and the hands up to the wrist. And if they are waking down the streets of Pedder Poad and if round the corner there is a hooligan, there is a ruffian who is waiting for a catch, who is waiting to tease a girl, I am asking you a question, which girl will he tease? Will he tease the girl the mini skirts or shorts or will he tease the girl wearing the Islamic Hijab? But natural he will tease the girl wearing the western clothes.

Let’s analyze what do the Hindu scriptures have to speak about modesty. It is mentioned in

Rigveda Book no. 8 Hymn no. 33 verse no. 19, it says that

“When Brahama has made you a dame, when Brahama has made you a woman, you should lower your gaze and should not look up. You should put your feet together and you should not reveal that which the garment and the veil conceals”

So Rigveda says that the woman should wear the veil, they should lower the gaze and should not stare.

Its further mentioned in Rigveda Book no. 10 Hymn no. 85 verse no. 30, it says

“Unlovely is the person, is the husband who covers his thighs with the garment of the wife”

So Rigveda says that wearing the clothes of the opposite sex is prohibited. It’s further mentioned in

Mahavir Charitra Act 2 Page no. 71 that

“Rama says when Parushraam comes, Rama tells his wife Sita that “he is our elder, please lower your gaze and put on the veil”

Rama tells his wife Sita that put on the veil and lower your gaze. If you read historical books, the books talking about the Coin Age or the age of Gupta and Post-Gupta Age, there are coins which have women wearing veil, Indian women up and their veil goes up to their shoulders, some go up till their arms. Many Indian women, if you go the villages, they wear the veil, they cover their head, some of the women even cover their face.

So if you analyze even the Hindu scripture say that the women should wear the veil, that the women should lower their gaze, it’s a pity that Raja Ram Mohan Roy, he might not have read these verses. God willing if Raja Ram Mohan Roy if he would have read these verses, even he would have told that the women should wear the veil. Four years back I appreciated the Home Minister L.K. Advani for suggesting that the rapist should put to death. May be the next Home Minister, he would advice that the women of India should wear the veil.

Mohammad Naik: Yes brother, can you state your name and profession?

Questioner: Assalamu Alaikum! My name is Afroz Wasaya, I am a manager in a private limited company. I would like to put one question. It is a common belief of all the religion that God can do everything then why can’t he become a human being?

Dr. Zakir: The brother has posed a question that all the religions believe that God can do anything and everything so why can’t he become a human being? Most of the religions besides Islam, they believe in a philosophy known as ‘Anthropomorphism’ that means  All Mighty God, he takes human forms.

And they believe in the philosophy that All Mighty God is so holy, he doesn’t know the short comings of the human beings, how will a human being feel when he is hurt, how will a human being feel when he is in trouble or in problem so All Mighty God has come down in this world and become a human being to set the rules for the human being.

On the face of it, it’s a very good logic but I tell these people that suppose I manufacture a VCR, do I have to become a VCR to know what is good or what is bad for the VCR, since I am the creator, I don’t have to become a VCR, I just write an instruction manual that if you want to play the VCR, Video Cassette Recorder, put in the video an dress the ‘PLAY’ button, if you want to fast forward, press the ‘FF’ button. If you want to stop, press the ‘STOP’ button. Don’t drop it from a height, it will get spoilt. Don’t immerse it in water, it will get damaged. I will write an instruction manual, similarly All Mighty God, since He is the Creator of the human beings, He does not have to become a human being to know what is good or what is bad for the human being. What does He do? He chooses a man amongst men and He reveals a revelation. And the last and final revelations for the human beings, it is the Glorious Qur’an, the Dos and Don’ts.

If I agree for sake of argument that All Mighty God can do anything and everything so why can’t He become a human being? If I agree with you for the sake of argument that God can do anything and everything that He can even become a human being, if God becomes a human being, He ceases to be God because God and human beings have got different qualities. All Mighty God, He is immortal, human beings are mortal. You can’t have a person who is mortal and immortal at the same time. God has got no beginning, Human beings have a beginning, you can’t have a person who has a beginning and no beginning at the same time. All Mighty God has got no end, human beings have an end. You can’t have a person who has an end and no end at the same time, it’s meaningless. So either you can have God or you can have man, you can’t have a God-Man, it doesn’t make sense. Human beings, we require to eat, All Mighty God does not require to eat.

Allah says in Surah Anam ch. no. 6 verse no. 14

“All Mighty God feedeth everyone but does not require to be fed”

We human beings require rest and sleep, All Mighty God does not require rest.

If I agree with you for the sake of argument All Mighty God can do anything and everything in that same argument, All Mighty God can even tell a lie, it is ungodly to tell a lie. The moment God tells lie, he ceases to be God. If I agree with you God can do everything, God All Mighty can even be unjust but the moment God does injustice, He ceases to be God.

Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Nisa ch. no. 4 verse 40 that

“All Mighty God is never unjust in the least degree”

If All Mighty God wants He can forget but to forget is ungodly. Allah says in

Surah Taa Haa ch. No. 20 verse no. 52 that

“Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) never forgets”

The moment All Mighty God forgets, he ceases to be God. If All Mighty God wants He can make a mistake but to make a mistake is ungodly, Allah says in

Surah Ta Ha ch. no. 20 verse 52 that

“All Mighty God never makes a mistake”

The moment God makes a mistake, He ceases to be God. No where in the Qur’an it is mentioned that God can do everything. What Allah says in the Qur’an in

Surah Faatir Ch. no. 35 verse no. 1 is

“Inna Allaha ala kulli shay-in Qadeer”

“That Verily Allah has Power over All Things”

It’s mentioned in several places. In

Surah Baqarah ch. no. 2 verse no. 106,

In Surah Baqarah ch. no. 2 verse no. 109,

In Surah Baqarah ch. no. 2 verse no. 284,

In Surah Ale Imran ch. 3 verse 29,

In Surah Nahl ch. 16 verse 77,

in Surah Faatir ch. 35 verse no. 1 Allah says

“Inna Allaha ala kulli shay-in Qadeer”

“For verily, Allah has Power over All Things”

Allah says in Surah Burooj ch. no. 85 verse no. 16 that

“Allah is the doer of all He intends”

Whatever He intends, He can do but All Mighty God will never intend telling a lie, will never intend making a mistake, he will never intend becoming a human being. He will only intend things which are Godly. Hope that answers the question.

Mohammad Naik: Next question from the brother on my left…

Questioner: Assalamu Alaikum. My name is Aatif Sumar, I am a student and my question is that Hindu scholars when… when they are doing idol worship, they claim that they are just worshiping the All Mighty God but the idol is just for concentration so according to Islam is it allowed? Is this allowed?

Dr. Zakir: The brother asked a question that the Hindu scholars, they agree that idol worship is wrong but to concentrate on All Mighty God the idol is only used for concentration they agree God has got no images but they use it for concentration so is it right? All these Hindu scholars, they have read the Hindu scriptures, the Hindu scholars agree that All Mighty God has got no images but what they say that those people who have lower consciousness, they require idol for concentration, once you reach a higher level of consciousness then idol is not required so I tell these Pandits and scholars that those people who have higher consciousness they don’t require an idol to concentrate so we Muslims have already reached that higher level of consciousness, we don’t required an idol to concentrate.

Furthermore once a Pandit told me that when we speak to children we have to make them understand easily, If your child asks you why does it thunder, we give the reply that “Aai Maa Chaki Peesti hai” it is thundering because “Aai Maa Chaki Peesti hai”, grandmother in the heaven she is grinding flour. I told him in Islam we don’t agree in telling a lie even if it’s a white lie. If I tell my son that it thunders because “Aai maa Chaki peesti hai” and when he goes to school, he learns that thundering is due to sudden expansion of rapidly heated air. He will start thinking that my father is telling a lie. What we have to know that we have to speak the truth. The Pundits and the Scholars, they say that at a lower level, the idol is required for concentration at a higher level, we don’t require concentration like how if we study at the lower standard one…. its required, higher level its not required.

I tell them that suppose we teach mathematics in standard 2 when we teach mathematics we say 2 + 2 is equal to 4 but the same 2 + 2 is equal to 4 remains in 10th Standard, remains when he does his graduation, it even remains when he does PhD, basic teaching of any subject remains the same 2 + 2 will remain the same irrespective in 2nd standard or 10th standard or graduation or PhD. It is very clear that in the Vedas, in the Hindu scriptures God All Mighty has got no images, it’s the basics, you can’t change your basic. If someone tells me that in Standard 2, 2 + 2 is equal to 5 so you can’t tell your son, don’t worry when you reach Standard 10, I will tell you 2 + 2 is not equal to 5, we have to correct him immediately. So it’s the duty of all the Hindu Scholars to tell the Hindus that according to the Hindu Scriptures, All Mighty God has got no images, that’s the basic. So even at the basic level that they should preach to the scholars that idol worship is wrong. Hope that answers the question.

Mohammad Naik: The next question which is the 4th question of the day and 1st on the slip is by brother Rohit Shah, he asks: if Islam is the religion of peace then why does it preach the concept of Jihad i.e. fighting and killing the Kaafir infact Hinduism is the religion of peace.

Dr. Zakir: The brother has asked a very important question that Islam is the religion of peace why does it preach about Jihad i.e. fighting and killing the Kaafir infact Hinduism is a religion is a religion of peace.

There is a great misconception as far as Jihad in Islam is concerned. This misconception is not only among the non-Muslims, it’s even among the Muslims. They think that any war fought by any Muslim, for any reason whether it be for personal gain whether it be for fame, whether it be for money, any war fought by any Muslim is Jihad. Jihad does not mean nay war fought by any Muslim. Jihad comes from the Arabic word Jahada which means to strive, which means to struggle, in Islamic context it means to strive against once own evil inclination, it also means to strive to make the society better, it also means to strive in the battlefield in self-defense, it also means to fight against tyrant and oppression. Jihad basically means to strive, it means to struggle and very often the critics of Islam, even the Hindu critics even Arun Shourie he writes in his book, ‘The World of Fatawa’ and he quotes

Surah Tawbah verse no. 9 verse no. 5 and it says that the Qur’an mentions

“Wherever you find a Kaafir, into brackets ‘Hindus’, whereever you find a Kaafir, you kill them.”

And if you open the Qur’an and if you read in this Qur’an ch. no. 9 verse no. 5, it does say that wherever you find a Kaafir, you kill him but it’s a quotation out of context. For the context, read a few verses previous. The first few verse of Surah Tawbah speaks about a peace treaty between the Muslims and the Mushriks of Makkah. This peace treaty was unilaterally broken by the Mushriks of Makkah so Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) by the time He reaches verse no. 5, He gives an ultimatum to the enemies, to the Mushriks of Makkah, you put things straight in 4 months time otherwise a declaration of war and in the battlefield Allah says to the Muslims wherever you find the enemies, wherever you find the Kaafir, you kill them. This verse of the Qur’an is talking about the battlefield when the Muslims are fighting for truth against falsehood, against the enemy, if they come to attack you, don’t get scared, kill them! Any army general to boost up the moral of the soldiers, will say that kill the enemies, he will not say that let the enemies go. So Qur’an speaks the same and Arun Shourie after verse no. 5 of Surah Tawbah jumps to verse no. 7, any intelligent person knows that verse no. 6 has the reply to his allegation. Verse no. 6 says that

“If the enemies, if the Mushriks want asylum don’t just let them go escort them to a place of security so that they will hear the word of All Mighty God”

The most generous Army General today will say that let the enemy go which Army General today will say that escort the enemy to security that is what the Qur’an says.

And there is another misconception in Islam that Jihaad means holy war. Holy War in Arabic is ‘Harbum Mukadassa’ no where in the Qur’an Harbum Mukadassa mentioned, no where it’s mentioned in the Hadith. Holy war is not the translation of Jihad, this holy war was first used to describe the crusaders, the Christian crusaders who conquered many lands and killed thousands of people in the name of Christianity. Now today they use this ‘holy war’ for Muslims which is totally wrong and unfortunately many Muslims scholars in inverted commas even they use holy war as the translation of Jihad which is totally wrong.

Let’s analyze what do the Hindu scriptures have to speak about Jihaad.

It’s mentioned in Bhagvad Gita ch. no. 2 verse no. 50

“Shri Krishna tells Arjun that strive for yoga, that’s good for you.”

Strive means struggle. So even Shri Krishna tells Arjun to strive and struggle and if you read the Mahabharat, Mahabharat, Mahabharat speaks about the battle between the cousins, the Kaurav and the Pandavs. There are thousands of verses which only speak about fighting, multiple times more than the Qur’an. And if you read Bhagvad Gita, Bhagvad Gita is Holy Scripture of the Hindus; it speaks about advice given by Shri Krishna to Arjun in the battlefield.

Bhagvad says in ch. no. 1 verse no. 42 to verse no. 46, Arjun says

“I would prefer dying unarmed and without fighting rather than kill the cousins, the Kauravas, the sons Dhritharashtra”

Shri Krishna replies in the next chapter ch. no. 2 verse no. 2

“O Arjun! How could such impurities come to your mind? That you don’t want to fight. You will not enter into heaven. How could you get such impotent thoughts which weaken your hearts?”

Shri Krishna says in Baghvad Gita ch. no. 2 verse no. 31 to verse no. 33, it says

“O Arjun! You are a Kshatriya, you should fight then only will you go to heaven otherwise you won’t go. And blessed are those Kshatriya who fight for truth in the battle”

And many of the critics, they speak against Qur’an and the Hadith and they quote

Sahih Bukhari Vol. no. 4 Book of Jihaad ch. no. 2 Hadith no. 46 in which our Prophet said

“Mujahid is a person who strives in the way of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) and if a Mujahid dies in the battlefield, he will go to Jannah, to paradise and if he wins, he will get the booty of the war.”

Exactly same thing is mentioned by Shri Krishna in Bhagvad Gita ch. no. 2 verse no. 37

“O Arjun! Go and fight, if you get killed, you will go to heaven and if you win the battle, you will enjoy the good of this world, this earthly world.”

This is exactly the same thing what is mentioned in the Hadith. Imagine if I quote saying that Bhagvad Gita says, you should kill your cousins, it will be devilish on my part, I am telling out of context, it will be devilish! The right thing is Bhagvad Gita says that you have to fight for the truth against falsehood and even if it be your cousin who are on the falsehood even if you have to kill them for the truth, there is no problem. So quoting out of context is devilish. So here we understand that if while speaking with the different types of people, we should know how to convince them. Believe me, hundreds of Hindus have spoken to me and saying Jihad is wrong. The moment I say but isn’t it mentioned in your Bhagvad Gita that you should kill your cousins. They tell me “No! But that is Shri Krishna is talking about fighting of truth against falsehood” I said that is what the Qur’an says. “O is that is what the Qur’an says then we agree with the Qur’an”

Mohammad Naik: Yes sister…

Questioner: My name is Saira, I am a teacher. In your talk you mentioned about pillars of Eemaan i.e. faith in Islam and showed the similarities of the same in Hindu scriptures. Is there any mention of the pillars of Islam in Hinduism?

Dr. Zakir: The sister asked a question that I have mentioned about pillars of Eemaan in my talk and compared with similarities in the Hindu scripture, are there any similarities between pillars of Islam and the Hindu scriptures? Yes sister, time didn’t permit me to speak about all these similarities, you can speak for days together. As far as the pillars of Islam are concerned, it’s mentioned in

Sahih Bukhari vol. no. 1 in the Book of Eemaan Hadith no. 8, the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) said that

“Islam is based on 5 principals, on 5 pillars, the first is Affirming “La ila ha ill Allah Muhammadur Rasoolullah”. There is no God but Allah and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), is the messenger of Allah.

The second is establishing Salaah.

Third is Zakaat, Charity.

Fourth is Saum i.e. fast in the month of Ramadhaan and

Fifth is pilgrimage to the city of Makkah once in your lifetime.”

These are basically 5 pillars, the first one about one Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) and the final messenger Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam), I have already discussed in my talk.

Regarding the second pillar of Salaah, the main portion of Salaah in Islam is Sujood i.e. prostration. Allah says in the Qur’an in

Surah Ale Imran ch. no. 3 verse no. 43

“Ya Maryamu oqnutee li Rabbiki wasjudee…”

That

“O Mary! Worship your Lord devotedly and bow down with those who bow down”

Allah says in the Qur’an in

Surah Hajj ch. no. 22 verse no. 77

“Ya ayyuha allazeena amanoo”

“O you who believe! Bow down and prostrate yourself and prostrate with those who prostrate.”

So the major part is prostration. In Hinduism there are various types of worship. One of the types of worship is called as ‘Sashtang’ Sashtang comes from ‘Sa’ meaning. Aath meaning ‘Eight’. ‘Ang’ mens part of body so Sashtang means 8 parts of the body. That means when you worship you should touch 8 parts of the body. Now if you analyze the best way a Hindu can do ‘Sashtang’ is the Sujood we do in Salaah, the 8 parts of the body we touch, is the forehead, is the nose, is the 2 hands, is the 2 knees and the 2 feet.

The third pillar of Islam is Zakaat, that’s charity. 2.5% of excess wealth in charity every lunar year. Charity is even prescribed in the Qur’an in

Surah Al Hashr ch. 59 verse no. 7 that

“Charity has been prescribed so that the wealth does not circulate only amongst the rich”

This is exactly what is mentioned in Rigveda Book no. 10 Hymn no. 117 verse no. 5 that

“Give charity to the poor and you may never know today you are rich, tomorrow you may become poor. And wealth circulates like the wheels of a chariot.”

Same thing as Islam.

Pillar no. 4 is Saum, that means fasting for the complete lunar month of Ramadhaan, abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset.

Hinduism has various types of fasting. One type of fasting mentioned in Manusmriti ch. no. 6 verse no. 24 is

“Fasting for 1 month”

Fasting is further mentioned in Manusmriti ch. no. 4 verse no. 222 and Manusmriti ch. no. 11 verse no. 204

The fifth pillar is Hajj that every adult Muslim who has the means to perform Hajj should at least perform Hajj that is pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah in the month of Hajj.

There are various types of pilgrimage in Hinduism, one type is mentioned in Rigveda Book no. 3 Hymn no. 29 verse no. 4, it speaks about ‘Elaispad’. A Tirtha, a place of worship called as Elai Spad, Ellah means Allah. Spad means place. So Elaispad means a place of God and it says, it is in the center of Prithvi, earth and we know that Makkah is the center of the world. So Veda says one place of pilgrimage is the House of Allah, we call it as Baitullah which is the center of the earth and further if you read in

Rigveda Book no. 3 Hymn no. 29 verse no. 11, it speaks about Narashansa, about Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). So this place of pilgrimage is nothing but Makkah and if you open and read the Sanskrit dictionary, it says Elaispad means a place of God, a place of Tirtha. Makkah pilgrimage is also mentioned in

Rigveda Book no. 1 Hymn no. 128 verse no. 1

These were in short similarities between Hinduism and the pillars of Islam.

Mohammad Naik: Yes brother…

Questioner: Sameer Khatib, I am in business. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has been proph.. prophesied in 4000 old scriptures of Hinduism, Vedas and the…. Puranas. Therefore Dr. Zakir Naik, you believe that these books are God-Sent and therefore Hindus are also Ahle Kitaab?

Dr. Zakir: The brother’s asked a very good question that since Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) is prophesied in Vedas and in the other Hindu scriptures can we consider these scriptures to be the word of God? And can we call them the Ahle Kitaab. Brother Ahle Kitaab as I mentioned in my talk it’s a word used for People of the Book specifically referring to the Jews and Christians. Ahle Kitaab refers to Jews and Christians.

Regarding your question that can we consider Vedas or the other Hindu scriptures as the word of God?

Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ra’d ch. no. 13 verse no. 38

“Likulli ajalin Kitab”

“In every age have We sent a revelation”

But by name only 4 revelations are mentioned in the Qur’an, Torah, Zaboor, Injeel and the Qur’an.

Torah is the wahi, which was revealed Prophet Moses (peace be upon him).

Zaboor is the wahi, which was revealed to Prophet David (peace be upon him).

Injeel is the wahi which was revealed to Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).

And Qur’an is the last and final revelation revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Now all these revelations that were revealed, they were revealed only for those people and that time. All revelations before the Qur’an were revealed were only for those people and for that time. Qur’an was revealed for the whole of humankind.

Your question, can we consider Veda or the Hindu were it word of God. Since the Vedas are not mentioned by name in the Qur’an we cannot say for sure that they were the word of God. What we can say may be they were the word of God. You ask me since Allah has sent various messengers can we consider Ram or Laxman as the messenger of God. See Allah says, He has sent several revelations on the face of the earth, he has sent several messengers since Veda is not mentioned in the Qur’an to be the word of God, I can say may be they were the word of God, I cannot say for sure. Similarly neither can I say that Ram or Krishna are the messengers of God, I can say, may be they were. Since they are not mentioned by name, I cannot say for sure they were, may be. But even if Ram was the messenger of God, even if Krishna was the messenger of God, even if Veda was the word of God, they were meant for those people and for that time. Today whichever part of the world you are living in, you should follow the last and final revelation i.e. the Glorious Qur’an and the last and final messenger Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which is even mentioned in the Hindu Scriptures as Antim Avtar.

Mohammad Naik: The next question from the slip is Brother Amar Sinha, he has asked, you promote interfaith dialogues in this do you agree with those who say all the religions are same?

Dr. Zakir: The Brother asked a question that that since I promote interfaith dialogue do I agree with those people who say that all religions are same. There are various interfaith dialogues going on throughout the world even in Bombay and we find that religious personalities of various religions come on the stage and say all religions are the same. A Hindu personality comes, a religious leader and says “All religions are same”. a Muslim personalities comes and says “all religions are same” and a Christian personalities comes and says “All religions are same”.

I ask them a simple question that if you agree all religions are the same then will a Christian priest give up Christianity and will he become a Muslim. Will a Muslim person give up Islam and will he become a Hindu. Will a Hindu priest give up Hinduism and will he become a Christian. The answer is no. these people they try and portray an image of being secular, they scratch each other’s back. It’s like a student asking a teacher that 2 + 2 is equal to how much? Is 2 + 2 equal to 3 or is it equal to 4 or is it equal to 5? 3 teachers come on the stage and say all three answers are correct. 2 + 2 is equal to 3 also, 2 + 2 is equal to 4 also and 2 + 2 is equal to 5 also. This is nothing but garbage.

I being a student of Islam and comparative religion, I have read the various scriptures; I know the practices of the various religions are not the same. I believe in communal harmony, I believe in interfaith dialogue, what I say if we make an assumption that lets assume that at least among all the various scriptures, various religions at least one scripture is 100% authentic the word of God. Now this assumption, no religious personality would object to, I would not mind accepting at least one of the religious scripture as the word of God. The Christian would say fine, at least means at least Bible is the word of God. Hindu will say, no problem at least the Veda is the word of God, the Muslims will say no problem at least Qur’an is the word of God. Now what you do you collect all the hundreds of teachings from the Christian Bible, from the Hindu scriptures, from the Veda and from Islam, the Qur’an. Now you find the commonalities. Suppose 50 are common, now when we take out 50 commonalities, the teachings from all these religious scriptures everyone will at least agree that this portion of the various scriptures at least is surely the word of God and no one would object in implementing it because it is present in all the scriptures. This technique of communal harmony is based on the Qur’anic verse of

Surah Ale Imran ch. 3 verse 64 which says

“Ta`alaw ‘Ilá Kalimatin Sawa’in Baynana Wa Baynakum”

“Come to common terms as between us and you”

There may be other differences, there may be other differences in the religions, I can give a talk even on differences between Islam and Hinduism but since we are coming on commonalities no one would object on following the commonalities because it is present in all the religious scriptures. There may be some people who may not be well versed of their scripture, they may sometimes be offended for example if you point out that all the religious scriptures whether the Bible, whether Veda whether the Qur’an says you should not do idol worship. Now since he is not aware of the Vedas, he may feel offended but yet, he will not go against me because if he goes against me, he is going against the Veda which is considered to be the word of God. So this is the best way for interfaith for interfaith dialogue and communal harmony that come to common terms as between us and you. Hope that answers the question.

Mohammad Naik: yes brother…

Questioner: My name is Mubeen Solker and I am a lawyer by profession. Before I put up my question I must say sir that I am really impressed by your knowledge of Hindu scriptures, it’s really amazing. My question to you is that you’ve said that there are so many similarities between Islam and Hinduism; does that mean that according to Islam a person can be a Hindu?

Dr. Zakir: Brother’s asked a very critical question that since I have pointed so many similarities between Islam and Hinduism, does it mean that according to Islam a person can be a Hindu.

Brother, if by the term Hindu you mean a geographical definition, a person who lives in India then according to Islam there is no problem in a person being an Indian. I am an Indian and I am a practicing Muslim, I am proud of my country India and I am proud to be a Muslim. So no problem in Islam if you are an Indian and practicing Islam but if you mean by the term Hindu, a person who follows the religious scripture of Hinduism then I have got no objection as long as that Hindu strictly follows the established truths of the scriptures of Hinduism.

What do I mean my established truth? Established truth means those truths mentioned in the Hindu scriptures which have been reconfirmed by the last and final revelation of God i.e. the Glorious Qur’an and I am referring to Vedas and the Qur’an which I talked in my lecture, both of them believe there is one God, they believe in the messengers, they believe the last messenger is Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam), they believe in the Hereafter, if they believe in all these established facts, I have got no objection but if you tell me “No, Hindu is a person who believes in everything what is mentioned in the Hindu scriptures then I being a student of comparative religion, I don’t agree, why? It’s not possible for a Hindu to believe in all the teachings in the Hindu scriptures because many a times the teachings of different scriptures of Hinduism, they contradict. Many a times, the same scriptures, Rigveda, they contradict themselves Manusmriti, they contradict themselves for example one place it says that you should not have pork, one place it says that you should have pork so a person cannot follow contradicting statements simultaneously.

So what we have to realize… That even in the Hindu scriptures there are certain things which are unethical as spoken by the great reformers, they believe in caste system which Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Justice Ranade spoke against, they spoke against the Sati system that the wife should burn in the funeral fire of the husband so these things a person cannot follow. That’s the reason I say that as long the Hindu follows the established fact and also agrees that there is one last Rishi, Antim Rishi when Buddha came and he tried to purify Hinduism of the superstition many people went against him that how come he is coming to purify the Vedas, later on they agreed that he was the 23rd of the 24 Avtars, they even agree that he was the 9th Avtar of Vishnu similarly when you read the scripture, it talks about Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) is the 24th Avtar, he is the 10th Avtar of Vishnu, he is the Antim Rishi so if the Hindu believes in the established fact, believes in Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) as the messenger of God, believes in one God, believes in the hereafter, there is no problem in him being a Hindu.

IS THE QUR’AN GOD’S WORD?

by

Dr. Zakir Naik

Question & Answer session

(Duration – 1 hour and 24 minutes)

Mohammad Naik: JazakAllah for your patient listening. Now we have the presumably more interesting session, the question & answer session. As you prepare your questions for Dr. Zakir & line up for the three mikes we have lined up for you in the ground. One on my left, one in the front for the gents, one in the rare on my left for the gents and one in the ladies section in the rare on my right for the ladies. May I mention a short message of Dr. Zakir on occasion of this conference in context of Peace TV?

He tells “My dear brothers & sisters in Islam & humanity, Assalamu Alaikum, may peace be on you, I welcome you to share in Peace TV’s global mission & vision of creating a better awareness & understanding of Islam as a just, righteous & peaceful way of life for the entire humanity. Share in removing the misconceptions, false fear & hate of Islam & Muslims globally. This also is the focus of this conference. Now as Peace TV is telecast to over 150 countries worldwide it beckons your Taqwa, sprit & support to make it a house hold TV channel across the globe, in all continents where it is being broadcast presently except for South America not only in the Muslim homes but also in millions of non Muslim homes seeking reliable Islamic knowledge & wisdom which many a times is not available in the main stream media.”

Now we start the question & answer session. To generate more value from the time available for our question & answer session the following rules need to be observed by the questioners. Your questions must be on the topic; is the Qur’an God’s Word? Your question should be brie & to the point. You may ask only one question at a time. For your second question you need to queue again at the back of the queue where you’re standing. Questions on the mike will be given 1st preference and if time permits questions on slips would be given 2nd preference. Non Muslims brothers & sisters will be given first preference to put forward their questions to Dr. Zakir. This would be tackled & handled by our volunteers at the question mikes. Then only would our Muslim brothers & sisters be given question preference for asking questions to Dr. Zakir.

Questions would be allowed only from the mikes, these questions would be allowed in a clockwise rotation. 1st for the ladies, 2nd for the gents, 3rd for the gents, again for the ladies, gents and then for the gents. If you have your questions kindly put it forward now to Dr. Zakir remember 3 points; on the topic, brief and only one at a time. We’ll allow the first question for the ladies, 2nd here & the 3rd at the rare. Yes sister.

Questioner: okay I have one question. In Surah Ale Imran verse 50 it says to follow the teachings of Jesus why doesn’t anyone do this?

Dr. Zakir: Can you mention your name sister please?

Questioner: Chastity.

Dr. Zakir: Sister’s asked a question that in the Qur’an says in Surah Ale Imran Ch.3 verse no. 50 that we have to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ pbuh and there are many verses which say that we have to believe in Jesus pbuh. Sister let me clarify that Islam is the only non Christian faith which makes it an article of faith to believe in Jesus Christ pbuh. No Muslim is a Muslim if he does not believe in Jesus Christ pbuh.

We believe that he was one of the mightiest messengers of Allah SWT we believe he was the Messiah translated Christ. We believe that he was born miraculously without any male intervention which many modern day Christians do not believe. We believe that he gave life to the dead with God’s permission. We believe that he healed those blind & lepers with God’s permission. The Christians & the Muslims sister we’re going together but one may ask where is the parting of ways? The parting of ways is sister is that many Christians they say that Jesus Christ pbuh he claimed divinity. He said that he was All Mighty God.

If you read the bible sister there is not a single unequivocal statement in the complete Bible where Jesus Christ pbuh himself says that I am God or where he says worship me. If any Christian can point out a single unequivocal statement, a single unambiguous statement in the complete Bible where Jesus Christ pbuh himself says that I am God or where he says worship me I’m ready to accept Christianity today. I’m not speaking on behalf of my other Muslim brothers. In fact if you read the Bible it’s mentioned in the

Gospel of John ch. 14 verse no. 28 Jesus Christ pbuh said:

My Father is greater than I.

Gospel of John Ch no. 10 verse no. 29

My Father is greater than all.

Gospel of Mathew Ch. No. 12 verse no. 28

I cast out Devil with the sprit of God.

Gospel of Luke Ch no. 11 verse no. 20

I cast out Devil with the Finger of God.

Gospel of John Ch. No. 5 verse no. 30

I can of my own self do nothing as I hear I judge and my judgment is just for I seek not my will but the will of All Mighty God… but the will of my Father.

Anyone who says that I follow not my will but the will of All Mighty God he’s a Muslim. Jesus Christ pbuh was a Muslim he never claimed divinity.

And its clearly mentioned in the book of Acts Ch. No. 2 verse no. 22 Ye men of Israel, listen to this, Jesus of Nazareth a man approved of God amongst you by wonders & miracles and signs which God did by him and you were witnessed to it.

Jesus of Nazareth a MAN approved of God amongst you by wonders & miracles and signs which God did by him and you were witnessed to it.

So we believe that Jesus Christ pbuh he was one of the Mightiest messengers of God but he was not God. So here we differ as far as the teachings are concerned your basic question was that Qur’an says you have to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ pbuh When Jesus Christ pbuh came in this world he was only sent for the Jews only for Bani Israel.

The Qur’an says clearly in Surah Saff ch. No. 61 verse no. 6 that Jesus Christ pbuh came as a messenger to the Bani Israel.

It’s mentioned in Surah Ale Imran ch. No. 3 verse 49 that Jesus Christ pbuh was sent only for the Bani Israel.

Its mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew ch. No. 10 verse no. 5 & 6 Jesus Christ pbuh he says Go ye not into the way of Gentiles. Who are the Gentiles? Non Jews, Hindus, Muslims, go ye not in the way of the Gentiles, enter ye not in the city of Smartens but rather go the hose of lost sheep of Israel.

And a similar message is repeated in the Gospel of Mathew ch. No. 15 verse no. 24 he says to the apostles that I have been sent not but to the Lost sheep of the house of Israel. So Jesus Christ pbuh was sent only for the Bani Israel and his message was supposed to be followed only for a particular time period that’s what the Bible says that’s what the Qur’an says

Inspite of this sister if you read the bible what Jesus Christ pbuh says if you analyze its mentioned in the Gospel of Luke that Jesus Christ pbuh he was circumcised on the 8th day. We Muslims, MashaAllah, we are circumcised, Majority of the Christians aren’t circumcised. So if you say that following the teachings of Jesus Christ pbuh makes you a Christian then I’d like to say that I’m more Christian than the Christian themselves.

It is mentioned in the Bible in the book of Ephesians Ch. No. 5 verse no. 18 that be not drunk, its mentioned in the book of Proverbs ch. No. 20 verse no. 1 that wine is a mocker.

We Muslims we don’t drink alcohol. Qur’an says in Surah Al Maidah ch no. 5 verse no. 90 alcohol is Haraam. We don’t touch it; we don’t touch it as a whole.

The Muslims are the biggest community of tea toddlers. So according to the Bible you should not have alcohol.

Its mentioned in the Bible that you should not have Pork in several places its mentioned in the Book of Leviticus Ch. No. 11 verse no. 7 & 8, its mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy Ch. No. 14 verse no. 8, in the book of Isaiah Ch. No. 65 verse no. 2 to 5.No less than 5 places that you should not have pork.

We Muslims we don’t have pork but majority of the Christians they have pork. So if Christian means a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ pbuh we Muslims are more Christian than the Christian themselves.

I can go on & on when Jesus Christ pbuh was asked which is the first of commandments he mentioned in the Gospel of Mark Ch. No. 12 verse no. 29 he said Shama Israellu Adonai IIa Hayno Adonai Ikhad it’s a Hebrew quotation which means Hear, O Israel The Lord Our God is One Lord.

We Muslims MashaAllah, we believe in none but 1 God. Majority of the Christians they believe in trinity. Father, son & holy Ghost. So if you say Christian means a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ pbuh, we Muslims are more Christians than the Christian themselves. And you can refer to my video cassette Similarities between Islam & Christianity which will give you more details that we are following more of the Bible, the teachings of Jesus Christ pbuh than the Christians themselves. Hope that answers the question sister.

Mohammad Naik: May I request the questioners to kindly state their names & profession so that we get a clear context with what background they are asking the question & Zakir can InshaAllah give you a more appropriate response. And we would request our volunteers to kindly see that very courteously the non Muslim brothers & sisters are given the first preference. May I put this too in context the objective is the brothers this is an open question & answer session and you can feel free to ask any questions on the topic of the day and you are totally free to criticize Islam, attack Islam if Dr. Zakir is speaking anything which is wrong or not speaking appropriate to the context of Peace or what the message of Islam states and it is against the basic humanity feel free to ask him you are under our full protection and we appreciate a person who would criticize us openly in the context like this than a person who would be against & feel bad in the heart & not come out in the open about what we feel we want you to come out in the open ask questions criticize, attack Dr. Zakir this is your opportunity please don’t miss it now. This is your opportunity for the next 1 hour feel free to ask questions. Yes brother.

Questioner: Assalam Wa Alaikum! My name is Ridhuwik Baniya. I’m French, non Muslim and I am traveling 8 months in India. I .. ah … I’m 18 years old I complete my 12 in June and so… ah.. inshaAllah if you agree I will meet you in private but now I just would like to ask you….. ah about the Jews…ah… may be if I am not wrong you said aaahh…that it is written in the Qur’an that Jews & pagans are the strength,,.. ah strong enemies of believers, Muslim believers, Muslims. And I would like to know how is this verse can provide peace in …in…a human kind when we see the troubles between Palestine & Israel how some Muslims & some Jews can.. Cannot be… cannot ……misunderstand this verse because may be it can provoke… it can provoke some aaahh…..misinterpretation if its literally such Jews & Muslims have to be enemies?

Dr. Zakir Naik: Brother’s asked a very good question that he said that I said in my speech & I quoted the verse of Qur’an of Surah Maidah Ch 5 verse 82 which says that strongest in enmity to the Muslims would be the Jews & the Pagans & the closest in love would be the Christians. So he’s saying won’t it create enmity when they say that the Jews & the Muslims should fight? The Qur’an doesn’t say that the Jews & the Muslims should fight, the Qur’an says strongest in enmity to the Muslims, to the believers will be Jews. It does not say that the Muslims should fight with the Jews. It doesn’t say that. But it says that the Jews by nature as a whole, they’ll be against Muslims. And I told in my lecture there are many Jews who accepted Islam. There are many Jews who are good to Muslims. But as a whole, as a whole if you take, Jews as a whole & the Christians as a whole, the Christians are closer than the Jews, as a whole. This is a fact.

For example the Qur’an says that the Jews are intelligent also. So that’s a fact. If they’re intelligent, they’re intelligent. That doesn’t mean that it hides the fact. And the Qur’an also says that they will be as a whole a staunchest enemy. So this is one of the falsification tests that today if you want to prove the Qur’an wrong, if the Jews, the Jews get together all of them and they decide that lets prove the Qur’an wrong. At least for 3-4 years we will be better than the Christians lets stop the war of Palestine. You know the Palestinians’, the Jews were kicked out by Hitler, Hitler insulated 6 million Jews. He kicked them out of Germany. The Arabs, the Palestinians’ they do Alhan wa Salahn, come, with open arms. After a few years they are kicked out their home. Imagine someone gives a traveler his home to live & the traveler kicks him out of his home & he’s shouting he’s taken my house & you are calling them terrorists.

So what we’ve to do is lets get together and solve this problem one of the problem is today America is controlled by the Jews, whether it be the banks, whether it be the money, whether it be the power. According to the American survey no one can become a President of USA without walking the Star of David. Though the Jews are a minority, less than 5% in America but they’re controlling the economy, they’re controlling America. Fine? So if they’re controlling America let all of this, lets solve the problem of Palestine, lets solve the American problem not forever… few years, 4-5 years only. And the problem is solved. So we aren’t telling that the Muslims should fight with the Jews infact the Qur’an says Even if your enemy wants peace, several places, even when they come to fight you it’s mentioned in Surah Anfal in the Battle if they want peace, give it to them. So Qur’an is always for peace. Qur’an is always encouraging… but if a person does not want peace to prevail what can we do. Islam is the religion of Peace. It wants Peace but it even mentions facts. That means we have to be careful of the Jews. Not that we have to fight them unless they come & fight with you, that’s a different thing. Imagine what’s happening in Palestine, what’s happening in other parts of the world. So brother for Peace to prevail you have to follow the guidance of Qur’an & live harmoniously rather than be enemies. The Qur’an doesn’t say that the Jews should be enemies but they will be its saying. Hope that answers the question.

Mohammad Naik: Can we have the next question from brother in the rare?

Questioner: I am Mr. Chauhan, a retired teacher. Before question I would like to Salam all of you.

Mohammad Naik: Walaikum Assalam Wa Rahamtullahi wa Barkatahu

Questioner: My question is the Qur’an is word of God as you propounded in detail. Several, but I doubt that Qur’an is not only the word of God but it is mixture of God’s & Prophet’s word. How? Because in several verses you said, you mentioned that I have not written as Prophet mentioning that I have not written, it is not my word. Where ever he has clarified that it is not my word so what about these words? these are not his words. Please.

Dr. Zakir: Brother asked a very good question and that logic I use when I speak to the Christians about the Bible. The brother said that undoubtedly you proved that it’s the word of God but besides being the word of God, there’s words of Prophet because its mentioned in the Qur’an I did not write it. Brother no verse of the Qur’an says I did not write it. You point out the verse & I’ll accept that the Qur’an is not the word of God. What does the Qur’an say? “They say that the Prophet wrote it” And I quoted may be you misheard me. What I said that the Surah Sajdah ch. No. 32 verse no. 1 to 3 “They say that the Prophet forged it tell them Nay it is the truth fro All Mighty God” it is All Mighty God talking if the Prophet wrote it then I’ll agree with you.

This is what is mentioned in the Bible. In the Bible it says that Moses pbuh he says that I died on so and so neither Moses wrote it neither God wrote it. So if Moses wrote the book how can he say that I died? So that’s what you find in the Bible. Jesus Christ pbuh is speaking so what we say as far as the Qur’an is concerned never will you find any direct speech of the Prophet if it is, it is quoted by All Mighty God in inverted commas. All Mighty God may say that the Prophet replied but never does the Qur’an say I did not write it.

In fact the Qur’an says it is from All Mighty God & I quoted several verses. If you want me to repeat I can repeat again Surah Anaam ch. No. 6 verse no. 19, Surah Anaam ch. No. 6 verse no. 93, Surah Yusuf ch. No. 12 verse no. 1 and 2, in Surah Ta Ha ch no. 20 verse no. 113, in Surah Sajdaah ch. 32 verse no. 1 to 3, in Surah Yaa Seen Ch 36 verse no. 1 to 3. Surah Zumar ch. 39 verse no. 1, in Surah Gaafir ch. 40 verse no. 2 is Surah Jathiya ch.  45 verse no. 2, several places in the Qur’an says; This book is a revelation from All Mighty God, direct speech. Hope that answers the question.

Mohammad Naik: Yes sister.

Questioner: Hi! My name is Sara. I’m.. ah .. independent student. I graduated in America I’m here sitting independently. As you stated Jesus never does claim divinity in the Bible. In Revelation Ch.1, I can’t read the whole chapter because it will take a very log time but Jesus is speaking and he says “Do not be afraid. I’m the first & the last, I’m the living one. I was dead & behold I’m alive forever & ever. I hold the keys of death & Hades. He also says I’m the alpha & the omega who is & who was & who is to come the All Mighty” these are also names of God written in the Old & New Testament. And I don’t see how that does not show like Jesus is not genetically the son of God but spiritually the son of God.

Dr. Zakir: Sister’s asked a question. She quoted Revelation chapter no. 1, she didn’t give the verses. She’s talking about the first 20 verses. And Alpha & Omega is verse no. 11 Revelation Ch. No. 1 verse no. 11 where Jesus Christ pbuh says that I’m Alpha & Omega so she says just because Jesus Christ pbuh says I’m Alpha & Omega, I’m first & the last according to you he’s claming divinity.

Mark me I’d said there is not a single unequivocal statement, not a single unambiguous statement in the complete Bible where Jesus Christ pbuh himself says that I am God or where he says worship me. He didn’t say. Now you are saying that because Jesus said I’m Alpha & Omega therefore he is All Mighty God. What do you mean Alpha & Omega, I’m the first & the last in what? Do you mean Jesus Christ was 1st in this world? No. he was born in a stable before him was his mother. There were many Prophets that came before him. So surely he’s not the first. Neither is he the last. In the Bible it says that Prophet Muhammad pbuh he’ll be coming.

It’s mentioned in the Gospel of John ch. No. 16 verse no. 12 to 14 “I have many things to say unto you but ye cannot bear them now for he when the sprit of truth shall come he shall guide you unto all truth. He shall not speak of himself all that he hears shall he speak. He shall glorify me, he shall show you thing to come.” talking about Prophet Muhammad pbuh. So what does this word Alpha & Omega mean? It does not mean that he is the first & the last actually, literally. Because there were many people who came before him and there were many people who came after him.

What does it mean that in the law of God whatever the messenger says the law of God He’s first & last. At the time of Moses, Moses was Alpha & omega as far as the law of God was concerned. Whatever he taught had to be followed. At the time of Jesus, Jesus Christ pbuh his teachings were alpha & omega, it had to be followed. At the time of Prophet Muhammad pbuh his teachings are alpha & omega. It is the first & the last. It does not mean that he claimed divinity. So therefore I said any unambiguous statement. If you literally mean he was first & the last; if you read the Bible, the Bible disagrees. There were many people who came before Jesus Christ pbuh. He was born in the womb of the mother and various people came after him also. So surely sister therefore I said unambiguous, unequivocal statement. Hope that answers the question.

Mohammad Naik: Yes brother.

Questioner: My name is Aryan… Arya Putra Kumar Narayan Singh Konte from Delhi. I speak no continue English I am very very sorry. Sir mein puchna chata hoon ke Bhagvan ke banaye sabhi niyamon mein parivartan hota rehta hai kya? Mein isliye puchna chaatahoon kyonki Islam dharma aavli bolte hain ke yani ki munushya ka kabhi purna janam nahi hota hai aur jab ki Shreemat Bhagvat Geeta mein Shri Krishna ne Arjun se kaha hai “Hey Parth ki insaan yaani ki kai baar janam leta hai shayad tumhe nahi malum hai mere kai janam ho chuke hai. Mein pehla jo Geeta ka gyan diya tha who pehle Manu ko diya tha.” Jise aap shayad Nuh alhe salam ke naam se jaante hoonge. Aur doosri baar kehte hai ke “Meine surya Dev ko ye gyaan diya tha uske baad mein aapko de raha hoon” to sir kya aap bata sakte hai ke manushya ka purn janam hota hai ya nahi hota hai? Kya Bhagvan ke banaye hue niyamon mein kya parivartan hota rehta hai kya samay anusar? Mein ye puchna chaata hoon.

Dr. Zakir: The brother’s asked 2 questions. The first question is can there be change in the law and the teachings of All Mighty God? Can there be changes? And question 2 is that can a person be reborn. Can he be reborn and he quoted a verse of the Geeta which I’ll come to it later on.

As far as the first question is concerned can the laws of God keep on changing. If the law of God is time bound, if its meant for only a particular group of people and for a particular time period it will keep on changing. For example as I mentioned in my talk Torah, Zaboor, Injeel all were revelations of God but they were meant for a particular group of people and for a particular time period. But once the last & final revelation of God has been revealed nothing new can be added nothing can be subtracted. Qur’an is the last & final revelation of All Mighty God. No other revelation is going to come. Prophet Muhammad pbuh is the last & final messenger. There is no other messenger to come.

Allah says in Surah Ahzaab ch. 33 verse no. 40 Ma kana muhammadun abaahadin min rijalikum walakin rasoola Allahiwakhatama annabiyyeena wakana Allahubikulli shay-in AAaleema”

That

“Muhammad pbuh is not the father of any of you men but he is the messenger of Allah and is the seal of the Prophets. And Allah is all knowing, full of wisdom.”

After Prophet Muhammad if anyone says that he is the messenger of God, he gets revelation then he requires a psychiatrist. Prophet Muhammad is the last & final messenger.

After Qur’an no other revelation is going to come and Qur’an clearly mentions in Surah Maidah Ch. 5 verse no. 3

“On this day have I completed My religion for you. And I’ve chosen for you Islam and completed my favour on you.”

Once the religion is completed nothing new can be added, nothing can be subtracted. So as far your question, yes the old revelations there can be changes. But the basic message from the first revelation till the last about Tawheed, about oneness of God is the same. So all the revelations that came before the Qur’an they have not maintained their pure form. They have been changed by human beings and because it was not meant for eternity All Mighty God didn’t feel it fit to be preserved.

But as far as the Qur’an is concerned Allah says in Surah Hijr ch. No. 15 verse no. 9

“We have revealed the Qur’an and We shall guard it from corruption.”

This Qur’an even if all the human beings try and change the Qur’an they cannot do it. All the human being & Jinn they get together they can’t change the Qur’an. So as far as the previous revelation yes there can be a change but the final revelation No it can’t be changed. It is the ultimate. Now coming to your 2nd question.

Questioner: 2nd question ye hai sir ki…

Dr. Zakir: nahi, 2nd question mein dohrara  hoon abhi. 2nd question yaad hai mujhe.

Questioner: Ki Allah ke paas teen nek bandhe jo rehte hai unmein hamaari aur se Bharma, Vishnu aur Mahesh, teeno ke kaam alag-alag hai. Yaani ki pehla Bhrama yaani ki jaisa jo jeev kaam karta hai uske hisaab se usko janam yaani ke yooni mein bej dete hai. Dusra kaam hai Vishnu, jo Vishnu ji hain woh jeevo ke paalna, poshna ki aur dhyaan dete hain. Teesre jo Mahadev hain, jinko dev aadi dev maha dev yaani ke jinko Shiv Shankar bolte hain yaani ki who sab ka hisaab barabar karte hain. Yaani ke aap ke paas jo yaanki ke Allah Ta’la ke paas jo teen , nek bandhe rehte hain unka bhi kaam kya yahi hai? Ismaael, Israeel…

Dr. Zakir: Bhaisaab aapne ek naya sawal poocha.

Questioner: Ji haan.

Dr. Zakir: Jiska jawaab doonga. Pehle purane sawaal ka jawaab dooh ke nahi mein?

Questioner: Ji

Dr. Zakir: Aapne punar Janam ki baat ki barabar?

Questioner: Ji

Dr. Zakir: Toh uska jawab chahiye ya nahi chahiye?

Questioner: Chahiye.

Dr. Zakir: Chahiye naa toh pehle punar janam ki bay karunga phir aap ki Bhrama, Vishnu aur Shiva ki bhi baat karunga haan, InshaAllah. Teeno ki baat karunga.

The brother asked another new question so I told him first I’ll reply to the old question then I’ll come to his new question. His previous question was that do you believe in reincarnation, in a second life. As far as reincarnation is concerned what you quoted is Bhagvat Geeta but the highest scripture in Hinduism is Veda. Vedas are no. 1. They are the Shrutis then later on comes the Smiritis, Mahabharat, part of Mahabharat is Bhagvat Geeta. Though Bhagvad Geeta is more widely read then the Vedas but in authenticity in grade Veda is higher. The Veda speaks about Punar Janam. Punar Janam means next life and if you read the Qur’an, Qur’an too speaks about next life. Qur’an says that you’ll come in this world, you’ll die again you’ll be resurrected. Punar means next, janam means life. Punar Janam. Nowhere does the Veda speaks about death-life, death-life, death-life, death-life, nowhere, nowhere. Neither does the Bhagvad Geeta speak about that.

What you quoted to me is a verse of Bhagvat Geeta ch. No. 4 verse no. 22. I’m giving you the reference. Where it’s mentioned in Bhagvat Geeta according to the Hindus it’s a word of All Mighty God and he says that as the human beings keep on changing the clothes they throw away the old clothes and put on new clothes same way the soul will take a new body. Will throw away the old body… new body.

I’ve got no problem. In this world you’ve this body when you die you’re resurrected new body no problem. It is matching with the Qur’an, matching with the Veda. But this philosophy what you’re talking about reincarnation in Sanskrit it is called as Samskara. The theory of reincarnation, the theory of life & death called as rebirth. Correct? Now this theory was propounded by the scholars of Hinduism it’s nowhere mentioned in the Vedas. Why? Because they could not justify some people are born deaf, some people born rich, some people born in a poor family, some people are born healthy, some people congenital heart disease. How can God be unjust? So they couldn’t justify. So they came with a philosophy of death-life, death-life. Karma & Dharma. Karma is the deed, action. Dharma is the law. So what justification? How can God be unjust? How can a person be born with a heart disease? AAh last life he did some sin. This was a philosophy, assumption by the scholars of Hinduism, not by Veda. So then they came with this philosophy and they say that if you do good deeds in your next life you’ll be born of a higher degree. And the universal brotherhood of Hinduism is all living creatures are brothers. So may be you’re born sometime as a cockroach, sometime as a rat, sometime as a cat, sometime as a dog, sometime as human being. Human being is the highest level. So if you do good deeds you’re born higher. If you do bad deeds you’re born lower. Fine? And you’re born as a human being 7 times. How many times? 7 times. This is the philosophy of the Hindu scholars. Called as Samskara.

Now I’m asking you a question brother. In this world sin is increasing or decreasing? Sin, paap badh rahi hai ki ghat rahi hai?

Questioner: Badh rahi hai.

Dr. Zakir: Badh rahi hai, Masha Allah. Very good. Sin is increasing. Population of human being, Insan jo janta.. Insanein badh rahe hai ki ghat rahe hai? Population badh rahi hai ki ghat rahi hai?

Questioner: Badh rahi hai.

Dr. Zakir: Badh rahi hai, MashaAllah. So sin is also increasing and human beings are increasing if sin is increasing human being should decrease. So what we realize logically it’s not correct. Therefore I believe in Punar Janam. Punar Janam means next life which even Qur’an speaks about next life. But only one. You come in this world only once.

Now coming to your 3rd question about Bharama, Vishnu, Mahesh or Shiva. Same-same. Two names. Mahesh & Shiva are same. But more popular known as Shiva. Fine? The creator, the destroyer, the sustainer. Bhrama, Vishnu Shiva. And you asked me that does God have these 3 forms. No, God doesn’t have 3 forms. Does he have any people? Yes, He has many angles. See alone God is sufficient. He does not require anyone’s help. But if he wants he can do it through an angel, if He wants. If He doesn’t want no problem. He just wills and it is. Kun Fa Kun. Be & it is. As far as the Hindus what they believe they believe in somewhat similar Trinity what the Christians believe even the Hindus believe. That All Mighty God, one God is God to create, Bharma. One God is God to destroy, Shiva. One God is God to sustain, Vishnu. So separate God for creation, separate God for sustaining, separate God for destroying.

The Qur’an says in Surah Anmbiya ch. 21 verse no. 22

“if there were Gods more than one God surely they would have fought amongst themselves”

And Qur’an says in Surah Mominoon ch. No. 23 verse no. 91 that

“if there were many Gods they would have piled upon one another”

And that’s what you find in Hindu mythology. One God fighting with other God. One God defeating other God, third God helping the second God. How can Gods fight? So best is only one God. Super power is only one. And that is what the Veda says.

If you ask a common Hindu how many Gods does he believe in? some will say 3, some will say hundred, some will say thousand, some will say 33 corers, Three hundred and thirty million. But if you ask a learned Hindu that how many Gods should a Hindu believe in? He will tell you that a Hindu should believe in only one God. But the common Hindu he believes in a philosophy known as Pantheism. What he says everything is God. The tree is God, the sun is God, the moon is God, the Human being is God and the snake is God. What we Muslims say everything is God’s. G-O-D with an apostrophe ‘S’. Everything belongs to God. The tree belongs to God, the sun belongs to God, the moon belongs to God, the Human being belongs to God as well as the snake belongs to God. So the major difference between the Hindus & the Muslims is that the Hindus say everything is God. We Muslims say everything is God’s. G-O-D with an apostrophe ‘S’. The major an apostrophe ‘S’. If we can solve this difference of apostrophe ‘S’ the Hindus and the Muslims will be united.

How you do it, Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ale Imran Ch. No. 3 verse no. 64

“Ta`alaw ‘Ilá Kalimatin Sawa’in Baynana Wa Baynakum”

“Come to common terms as between us and you”

Which is the first term?

“Allah Na`buda ‘Illallah”

“That we worship none but Allah”

“Wa La Nushrika Bihi Shay’an”

“That we associate no partners with him”

“Wa La Yattakhidha Ba`duna Ba`dan ‘Arbaban Min Dunillahi”

“That we erect not among ourselves Lords and Patrons other than Allah.”

“Fa’in Tawallaw”

“If then they turn back”

“Faqulush hadu”

“Say ye bear witness”

“Bi’anna Muslimun”

“That we are Muslims bowing our will to Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala)”.

The best way to analyze any religion is not to try & understand what the followers are doing but you have to analyze the scriptures.

Now if we analyze the Hindu scriptures if we read the Upanishads which Vedas, Upanishads are the highest.

It’s mentioned in Chandogya Upanishad Ch. no. 6 Section no. 2 verse no. 1

“Ekkam Evadityam”

“God is only one without a second”.

It is a Sanskrit quotation. Ekkam Evadityam God is only one without a second.

It’s mentioned in Svetasvatara Upanishad ch no. 6 verse no. 9

“Na casya kascij janita na cadhipah”

“Of Him there is no Lord. He has got no parents.”

All Mighty God has got no superior, he’s got no mother, he’s got no father.

Its mentioned in the Svetasvatara Upanishad Ch. No. 4 verse no. 19

“Na tasya pratima asti”

“Of that God there is no pratima”.

Pratima means image, pratima means photograph, idol sculpture, painting. All Mighty God has got no photograph, has got no statue, has got no statue, has got no painting, he has got no images.

And amongst the Hindu scriptures the most scared are the Vedas its mentioned in Yajurveda ch. No. 32 verse no. 3

“na tasya pratima asti”

“Of that All Mighty God there is no pratima, there is no images, there is no images, there is no scriptures, there is no statue.”

Its mentioned in YajurVeda ch. No. 40 verse no. 8

“All Mighty God is pure”.

It’s mentioned in YajurVeda Ch. No. 40 verse no. 9

“Andhatama pravishanti ye asambhuti mupaste”

They are entering darkness those who worship asambhuti. Asambhuti are the natural things like fire, water, air etc. and the verse continues they are entering more in darkness those who worship the Sambhuti. Sambhuti are the created things like table, chair, idols etc. who says that YajurVeda ch no. 40 verse no. 9.

And the BharamaSutra of Hinduism is “Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan”

Bhagvan Ek hi hai, dusra nahi hai, nahi hai, nahi hai zara bhi nahi hai. There is only one God not a second one not at all, not at all not in the least bit.

Mohammad Naik: We would like our audience to give this young boy a good hand because I think when we are young we are more innocent, we are more righteous, we are more truthful. He’s an example for it putting a very genuine question. He had a genuine question. He believed in a genuine approach, Alhamdulillah. May we have the next question from the brother in the back?

Questioner: Mr. Zakir this is Arora Vivek. Being a Hindu over here, I’m not over here to any controversy but I have a question ‘Aham Brahama, Aham Vishnu, Aham Mahesh’ that was called by someone of my very good friend. Eventually he was telling us about Qur’an & Bible but what my question is I have just got 4 questions to ask to you. no.1

Mohammad Naik: Most important question first

Questioner: Okay I…

Mohammad Naik: if there is time we would definitely permit you another question.

Questioner: No issues, no issues

Mohammad Naik: because if everyone and if I as a coordinator allow I think we are not being fair to the other questioners.

Questioner: Fine. I got your point. Just one question as though Mr. Zakir you were talking about Genesis, Version and everything. I just have a put want a question. If you’re making some comparison between the Qur’an & Bible, why not a comparison between the Vedas, the Qur’an & the Bible? They are versatile in each and every manner. One is eventually co operated with each other. God The All Mighty is one rather it called be as a Allah, it’s called by Bhagvan or Jesus. Why not make it sure all of the people should say why not only one?

Dr. Zakir: Brother asked a very good question, a very important question, a very practical question. When I’m making a comparison between the Qur’an and the Bible why not make a comparison between the Qur’an, Bible, Veda etc.? And he said that why don’t you follow all and that is what I tell the people and that is what the Qur’an says

“Ta`alaw ‘Ilá Kalimatin Sawa’in Baynana Wa Baynakum”

“Come to common terms as between us and you”

Brother, what I tell every human being, any whether it be a Hindu, Christian, Muslim Jew, Sikh, Parsi no problem. I tell them a simple thing which everyone will agree. At least that one scripture is the word of God. No one would mind doing that. The Hindu will say okay fine Vedas is the word of God, Christian will say Bible is the word of God. Muslim will say Qur’an is the word of God, the Sikh he’ll say my Granth is the word of God, the Parsi he’ll say that Avesta is the word of God, no problem. Now put all the scriptures together. What is common let us agree to follow that. What is not common we can discuss that tomorrow. Fine? I only ask them one thing what is common in all these scriptures let us agree to follow because at least…

Questioner: Sorry to interrupt you sir. Sorry to interrupt you.

Dr. Zakir: Brother please let me complete the answer. After I…

Questioner: Please, please, please Mr. Zakir…

Dr. Zakir: After I finish, After I finish the answer what you want you can say. May be what you want to ask I will give in the answer. Correct? I go in step wise.

Questioner: Right sir.

Dr. Zakir: The mathematical, If you want to solve a problem if I direct give you the answer I have to go step wise 1…2…3…4

Questioner: Exactly.

Dr. Zakir: My only request is what is common in all the scriptures let us follow. What is not common we will discuss later on. Fine? Now common in all the scripture is that God is one. So let us believe God is one. Vedas say that God is one.

Didn’t I say that Ekkam Evadityam God is only one without a second,  Bible says that,

Gospel of Mark Ch. No. 12 verse no. 29, Book of Deuteronomy ch no. 6 verse no. 4 “Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adonai Ikhad.” “Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one.” The Jews say that, the Christians say that.

The Qur’an says “Qul hu Allahu Ahad” say that he’s God one and only. So where does this trinity come in between. Where does this Brahama, Vishnu, Shiva come in between. Where?

Questioner: I didn’t believe in that.

Dr. Zakir: Brother, let me complete. There is no Brahama mentioned in the Qur’an, there is no Shiva mentioned in the Qur’an. There is no Jesus mentioned in the Qur’an that he is God. its mentioned in the Qur’an that he’s a messenger of God. the Bible also doesn’t say that Jesus is God. it is the false reading of the Christians so how come you’re saying that doesn’t matter whether Allah, Jesus.. it matters.

The Qur’an says in Surah Isra ch. No. 17 verse no. 110

“Qulidoo Allaha awi doo ar rahmanaayyan ma tad’oo falahu al-asmao alhusna”

“Say, “Call upon Him by Allah or by Rehaman By whichever name you call upon him to Him belongs the most beautiful names.”

It should be a beautiful name it should not conjure a mental picture, it should be a true name. You can’t give a false name to God. You can’t insult God. You can’t belittle God.

Some people tell me what difference does it make you call pani, you call water, you call tani no problem. If you call pani, you say in Hindi, tani you say in Tamil. Moya or mae you say in Arabic. Jal you say in Hindi no problem. You can call by any name. but then one morning my friend comes and tells me every morning I have water but after I have water.. the doctor told me have a lot of water but I start vomiting. I said why? No the water is yellowish. The doctor told him to have water, he has every morning one glass of water, the water is yellowish. Yellowish? Yellowish? Then I realized what he’s talking about is not water, its urine. You can’t call urine as water. This definition of water you can call tani, you can call water… You can say Rehman, you can say Rahim, you can say Karim, you can say Rabb but you can’t call God as man. You can’t say God as Insan. Therefore you cannot call water as urine.

And the touchstone for theology is Surah Ikhlas Ch. No. 112 verse no. 1 to 4. what I mentioned in Surah Ikhlas so what I’m going to tell that what is different keep it aside. Nowhere does the Qur’an say that Jesus is God, nowhere does the Qur’an say that Mahesh is God. So keep Mahesh out. Yes, if you say Brahama, Brahama is a Sanskrit word which is known as a creator God. So if you say creator I’ve got no problem. If you say God is a creator, I’ve got no problem. Because Qur’an says God is Khaliq, creator. But then you say this creator has got 4 heads, he’s got 4 hands then you’re giving an image to God. You’re going against the Veda ‘na tasya pratima asti’ of that God there is no image.

Questioner: I do believe sir.

Dr. Zakir: So call him Creator. But you say that creator is a man then he’s not God.

Questioner: I do have an apology.

Dr. Zakir: …the greater. Brother if you see my video cassette similarities between Islam & Hinduism, InshaAllah, most of your quires will be answered. Hope that answers the question.

Questioner: I do apology. What I was specifically want to say to you Mr. Zakir I do not want to get into controversy over here but thing is this Mr. Zakir was telling appropriately right what exactly was here the people is wanting. What I wanted to know basically, exactly what he… the speeches he is providing to us we are over to listen him exactly the renisa … the renisa, the creator of the world rather it should be counted as Allah, Baghwan, or the Jesus. Should not be created himself. It has to be materialized with differentiations. Thank you.

Dr. Zakir: Brother, if you’d heard my answer you call him Allah I’ve got no problem, you call him Baghwan, as long as what is the meaning of Baghwan, according to Rajnish, Baghwan means something else. I don’t know whether you know. According to Rajnish, what definition Raajnish gave then I cannot believe god is Baghwan. So what we have to realize we have to believe in the concept of the All Mighty, the Creator, the Maker. If you know that concept and the words should be chosen correct. It should not be a wrong word. What word is common between the scriptures we’ve got no objection but Jesus as you again mentioned is not common is the Bible & the Qur’an. Qur’an says Jesus is a Prophet of God and even the Bible says he’s a prophet of God but the Christians they misunderstand that Jesus claimed divinity. So if the Christians they misunderstand the Bible why should I agree with their misunderstanding. I have to clarify that. I’ve not come here to create a controversy.

I’ve come here to come to common terms

“Ta’alaw ila kalimatin sawa-in baynana wabaynakum”

Come to common terms as between us & you.

Mohammad Naik: Yes can we have the next question from the sister?

Questioner: I’m Dr. Pooja Arora, I’m from Sion Hospital. I’m a physiotherapist. Sir I totally agree with you. Just a small question when Muhammad Prophet attained his prophet hood and he.. as you said he was a common man before he attained prophet hood by that time is it that Qur’an which is the word of God has enlightened only Muslims because God can’t be partial so what was the rest of the world doing when Muhammad Prophet was enlightening a small sect of people? And is that such a long time is being taken for the rest of the sectors of the society to just get enlightened to this word of God and how many years would the non hin.. Muslims like Hindus would… I totally agree with you it has to be a concept. Hindus are believing idols, pictures but or Ram, Bhagwan, whatever but it is a concept and they have to be enlightened about it that it is one. Hinduism also follows a … an Almighty which is a power, a divine power but unfortunately it is been given in various forms. So this enlightenment if Qur’an helps a Hindu to know this enlightenment it is fabulous!

Dr. Zakir: Sister’s asked a very good question and a very important question. She said that if the Qur’an is such a great book; if it’s the word of Almighty God then why it was only meant for that small group? You know Arabs of that time only Muslims, why not for the full world? How long will it take? Sister the Qur’an was never revealed only for the Muslims or for the Arabs.

The Qur’an was revealed for the whole of Humanity.

Its mentioned in Surah Ibrahim ch. No. 14 verse no. 1,

in Surah Ibrahim ch. No. 14 verse no. 52,

In Surah Baqrah Ch. No. 2 verse no. 185

& Surah Zumar ch. No. 39 verse no. 41 that the Qur’an was sent for the whole of humanity.

Time is short therefore I’m giving only references not the quotations. So the Qur’an was not sent for the Muslims or the Arabs, the Qur’an was sent for the whole of humanity. And Prophet Muhammad pbuh he was not sent only for the Muslims or the Arabs, the Qur’an says in Surah Ambiya ch. No. 21 verse no. 107 Wama arsalnaka illa rahmatanlilAAalameen that “We have sent thee not but as a mercy to all the Human Beings, as a mercy to all the worlds, as a mercy to all the creatures.

The message is repeated in Surah Saba ch. No. 34 verse no. 28 that Prophet Muhammad pbuh is sent as a universal messenger giving glad tidings and warning them against sins but most of the human beings yet do not know. Now this verse of the Qur’an says most of the human beings yet do not know. That’s the reason sister we are having such conferences. It’s the duty of every Muslim that he should convey the word of All Mighty God to all the human beings.

Questioner: So one more thing sir, Can I ask?

Dr. Zakir: It will take time but better late than never sister, better late than never. And everyone who claims to be a Muslim may not be a practicing Muslim. He may have a name Abdullah, Zakir, Mohammad, Sultan but he may not be a practicing Muslim. Similarly as you rightly said in Hinduism you don’t follow your scriptures but yet the religion which is the maximum followed not only by lip service but in practice today it is Islam, no.1. In numbers Christianity, it is close to two billion. Muslims claming is 1.3 billion but the people practicing the religion no. 1 is Islam. Percentage wise it is the largest. So theses lectures are mainly those small percentage of Muslims who are not following Islam correctly to get them closer to Islam and to those Non Muslims we want to give the message of Peace, the message of Love and prove to the world that there is only one God. The ultimate peace can only come if you submit your will to All Mighty God. That’s the only way to get ultimate peace in this world and the hereafter. So that’s the reason sister we are having such conferences, we have a satellite channel Peace TV where every day more than 60 million people, they’re watching it. So at least on the Day of Judgment we can give Shahadah to Allah SWT, Yaa Rabb we did our best whatever we could we at least gave the message every day at least to 60 million people and today the message has even reached you sister. So tomorrow on the Day of Judgment I can tell to All Mighty I gave the message to this sister. Whether you accept it or not is in your hand sister.

Questioner: I just want to add, can I? Thank you very much Sir. Just one more thing if… because God is impartial so on the Day of Judgment as you did a partiality that non Muslims should be given 1st priority to ask their questions. God is impartial so if Hindus stop believing in idols and pictures and they start believing in the All Mighty which has got no form, no shape and on the Day of Judgment is it that they will be not behaved as Muslims by God? no it is not like that. It is the concept which is there in Hinduism, the misbelieve that is followed in forms but if an Hindu following Hindu religion is not wrong but following because you aim is God. He is the Supreme he should not have form..

Dr. Zakir: Very good question.

Questioner: But if this message is reached to Hinduism, you have won it.

Dr. Zakir: Very good sister, very good question.

Questioner: Thank you Sir.

Dr. Zakir: Regarding we being partial or impartial there can be 2 different views. From your side because we are partial at least you could ask your question. If I wasn’t partial I couldn’t tell to Allah SWT I gave you the message directly 1 to 1. you know, so…

Questioner: He doesn’t believe.

Dr. Zakir: So what you have to realize sister but why we are partial? We are partial to be impartial because the others have got the message, If not 100%, 90%. You all have got less so we are partial to be impartial.

Questioner: Right Sir. So what we need to..

Dr. Zakir: now coming back to your question sister.

Questioner: Yes sir.

Dr. Zakir: It’s a very Good question that if the Hindus believe in one God do not believe in idol, do not believe in images, do not believe in the statues on the day of judgment won’t we be Muslims? Correct, you are following part of Islam, correct. If you read the Hindu scriptures further, the Hindu scriptures says there is another messenger to come and the coming of Prophet Muhammad pbuh has been prophesied in various places.

He’s prophesied in Bhavishya Purana Parv 3 Khand 3 Adhay 3 Shloka 5 to 8, he’s prophesied in Bhavishya Purana in Parv 3 Khand 3 Adhay 3 Shloka 10 to 27. he is prophesied in the Atharva Veda ch. No. 21 verse no. 6, Atharva Veda ch. No. 21 verse no. 7. he is prophesied in several places. He is mentioned by name no less than 100 times as Muhammad in the Hindu scriptures.

Questioner: Right Sir.

Dr. Zakir: Time doesn’t permit me to mention all the references. There is mention of a Kalki Avtar in Kalki Purana ch. No. 2 verse no. 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 & 15. it says that there is another Avtar to come, Kalki Avtar who’s father’s name shall be the servant of God, Vishnuyash, translated into Arabica as Abdullah, which was the name of the father of Muhammad SAW. The mother’s name of this Kalki Avtar would be Sumaati that means peace & serenity which is Aameenah in Arabic, which was the name of Prophet Muhammad SAW’s mother. This person would be born on the 12th day of Madhav, the 12th Rabbi Awal. That is the day when Prophet Muhammad SAW was born. He’ll have 4 companions and we know that the first were Khulfa Raashadeen. They say that he will be born in a place which is peaceful, in Makkah. He’ll be born in a house of the Chief of Makkah that is the Quersh tribe. It says that he will go northwards from a cave and come back and Prophet Muhammad SAW went from Makkah to Medina and came back. On and on… talking about Kalki Avtar. So you believe in one part La ila ha ill Allah you also have to believe in Muhammadur Rasoolullah.

Questioner: Muhammadur Rasoolullah. Thank you sir, thank you.

Dr. Zakir: and if you do this you keep your name whatever your name was, whether Preeti, whatever your name was.. what is your name sister?

Questioner: Pooja

Dr. Zakir: Pooja, you keep your name, don’t change your name but indeed you will be a Muslim changing your name is not required with…

Questioner: Sir the concept

Dr. Zakir: With concept of one God, no statue, no images, last-final messenger Prophet Muhammad, InshaAllah on the Day of Judgment you will go to heaven with your name Pooja.

Questioner: So the pathways are different the only thing is that the Goal should be the same. That is what I believe.

Dr. Zakir: No sister, for the goal… pathways are different if both the different pathways go to the same goal then it is fine.

Questioner: Meet, we meet at the same goal. Yes sir that is what I want to say.

Dr. Zakir: All the roads don’t lead to Rome sister. Fine? You may think it will lead so if you think falsely I have to correct you. it can…

Questioner: I don’t believe… no sir, no sir

Dr. Zakir: No Sister, if you say you are a Hindu. By definition Hindu is a person who lives in India.

Questioner: No sir it’s not like that.

Dr. Zakir: Sister, Hindu is a geographical definition. You don’t know, I know. I’m a Hindu by geographical definition. I’m a Hindu geographically… Sister the word Hindu was first used by the Arabs. There are many Arabs here; they call me Hindi when I go there. Aye hindi hai hindi. They tell I’m a Hindu. The word Hindu was first used by the Arabs when they came to India it was also used by the Persians to describe the people who lived in India. So geographically I’m a Hindu. But if you tell me religiously Hindu is a misnomer. Swami Vivekananda said the right term is a Vedantist. You should follow the Vedas. So as far as you follow the right things in the Vedas believe in one God and believing in Prophet Muhammad SAW by deed you are a Muslim.

Questioner: Sir the religion can’t be powerful.

Dr. Zakir: It is…

Questioner: the ultimate power is Allah. right? Correct the ultimate power is God.

Dr. Zakir: correct I agree with you. and the religion of God.. and the religion of God is the ultimate religion. There’s only 1 religion.

Questioner: Sir the religion of God is not Islam, the religion of God is not Islam, isn’t it?

Dr. Zakir: Islam, if Islam is a Arabic word which is hurting you. you keep Islam aside.

Questioner: No-no it’s not hurting me, it’s not hurting me.

Dr. Zakir: I’m telling you sister. If its not hurting you but…

Questioner: No sir it is a Pak word in itself, how it can hurt anybody? At least not a educated girl.

Dr. Zakir: MashaAllah, you’re an educated girl sister.

Questioner: Thank you so much. Thank you sir.

Dr. Zakir: Sister, Islam means submitting your will to God. So if Islam is the problem then keep Islam aside but submit your will to God.

Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ale Imran ch 3 verse no. 19

“Innad deena inda Allahial-islam”

“The only religion, the only way of life accepted in the sight of Allah is submitting your will to All Mighty God”

Mohammad Naik: Yes brother…

Questioner: Mr. Naik this is myself Dr. Suryakant Pawar from St. George hospital. Thanks for the nice and enlightening lecture about the Qur’an as God’s word. As you mentioned that Qur’an is God’s word I just want to ask you who is the creator of the god? What is the origin of the God?

Dr. Zakir: The brother asked a very good question that if Qur’an is the word of God, who is the creator of God? Very good question. If I ask you brother that your friend John he gave birth to a child can you guess the child was girl or a boy? Your friend John gave birth to a child in the hospital can you guess was it a girl or a boy? Guess-guess…

Questioner: No.

Dr. Zakir: Girl or a boy?

Questioner: I can’t guess.

Dr. Zakir: Sorry.

Questioner: I may not guess.

Dr. Zakir: try, at least 50% you’ll get right.

Questioner: ya 50%. One half chance.

Dr. Zakir:  okay tell me.

Questioner: boy

Dr. Zakir: Boy! Brother can a man give birth to a child?

Questioner: No.

Dr. Zakir: So is it a girl or a boy?

Questioner: but the name can be for female.

Dr. Zakir: I’m asking you, your friend John. I don’t know anyone female called by John.

Questioner: no we can call na.

Dr. Zakir: Okay, suppose your friend, who is a boy, is a man he went to a hospital he gave birth to a child. Was it a girl or a boy?

Questioner: girl.

Dr. Zakir: can a man give birth to a child brother?

Questioner: No (ha ha ha)

Dr. Zakir: Haan! Now you understood. A man can’t give birth to a child! So where’s the question of it being a girl or a boy? So by definition God is uncreated. So your question who is the creator of God is like I asking you a question your friend who’s a man he gave birth to a child is it a girl or a boy. The question is illogical because by definition a man cannot give birth to a child. So where’s the question of a girl or a boy. So by definition God is uncreated. Every created thing has a creator; God does not have a creator. Therefore my argument with an atheist I never ever said that everything has a creator. I said every created thing has a creator. But the God is uncreated by definition. The moment I mention who is the creator of God? He’s not God, Walam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad. Therefore by definition God is uncreated. Hope that answers the question.

Questioner: okay, thank you.

Mohammad Naik: the next question from the brother in the back.

Questioner: My name is Peter. I’m a student of religious philosophy. Now my question is on the textual authenticity of the Qur’an. First when Abu Bakr commanded Zaid to gather the text together he did that but there is also written in Al Bhukhari vol no. 5 page 96 Abdulah Ibn Masood he was the authority mentioned by Muhammad. He gathered a text then Salim, the freed slave he gathered a text and also Ubay ibn Kaab, a master reciter mentioned by Muhammad. And there are also other people who compiled their texts but when Usman became the Khalifa he ordered Zaid to make replicas, 7 replicas of his text and sent it to the different parts. And ordered those previous texts to be burnt. Now if those master reciters compiled the Qur’an and Usman ordered those texts to be burnt now there rises a question on the authenticity of the Qur’an.

Dr. Zakir: MashaAllah, Brother knows about Ibn Masood, May Allah be pleased with him, about Zaid ibn Thabid, may Allah be pleased with him, Masha Allah. Many of the Muslims may not know those names. You know now it’s easy to go on the internet. Jesus Christ pbuh said in the Gospel of John ch. No. 8 verse no. 32 “Seeketh the Truth and the truth shall free you” Now when internet is there many people go on the internet, there are various websites which are speaking against Islam. They go, they get the name and they recite.

No problem brother, no problem. Brother as far as your question is concerned, the people who compiled the Qur’an, there was a group of Sabahas, the companions of the Prophet, whenever Prophet got a revelation he repeated it to these scribes and suppose

Iqra bi-ismi rabbika allathee khalaq Khalaqa al-insana min AAalaq.

He got the revelation and Prophet MashaAllah, very good memory, Allah saw to it that he retains in the memory. He repeated it. When he repeated it these scribes wrote down. The Prophet personally verified. He was an Ummi. How did he verify? Okay read it now. Iqra bi-ismi rabbika allathee khalaq. Haan correct.

So Prophet personally verified when he was alive whatever was written down of the Qur’an whether it was perfect or not under his personal supervision and these scribes they were selected by the Prophets and that’s how when the revelation came in 22 and a half years all was written down and later complied in one book. All supervised by Prophet Muhammad SAW even the order.

Now later on there were many other people whenever the Prophet said a verse was revealed they used to write in his own notes. Many, many Sabahas but this private notes of the other people weren’t checked by the Prophet. Suppose a teacher gives the notes 100 students are copying… how do I know whether its right or wrong. If I’m giving a lecture, if some people note it down chapter number, verse number – chapter number, verse number how fast can they note down and if I don’t verify they say oh Dr. Naik you said this reference. Where did I say it? Have I checked it? So what happened later on there were many variant versions of the Qur’an. Versions means that people thought their own notes to be the Qur’an and when Islam spread people did not know which was the real Qur’an. So at that time whatever the compiled copy was there when Hazrat Abu Bakar, may Allah be pleased with him, dealing these scribes it was then in the hand of the wife of the Prophet, Hazrat Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her, and then Usman ordered that copy, may Allah be pleased with him, and had a replication so that it could be sent in the different parts of the world and then he said whatever copy you have whether right or wrong you burn it. Because that hasn’t been verified. So people had their own notes.

So suppose someone makes notes of my lecture, there are people making here notes. May be 80% is right, 90%. 100% is very difficult, correct? 100% is very difficult so 80%… even if it is 100% correct if I give you now, this is the book of my lecture. You know you’ll be getting a book now, Qur’an and Modern Science, authenticated by me. Your notes you throw it away. Why does he require the notes. I have given you a book. Anyways you aren’t getting the full lecture. You’re getting the part of the lecture Qur’an & Modern Science. Now that part I will tell you brother throw that notes away. This is correct. Authenticated by me, Dr. Zakir Naik, my book. So same way whatever was authenticated by the Prophet, the revelation of Allah SWT, Hazrat Usman May Allah be pleased with him, he said all the other copies should be burnt. That does not mean there were variant Qur’ans there was 1 Qur’an that was revealed but people when they wrote with their own notes there were differences. So that’s the reason now one of those copies is even today present in Coptaki Museum, Istanbul. So this… and if you check it with today’s Mushaf. It is exactly the same. Word to word, letter to letter. That’s the way even if you try to change it you cannot because today there are millions of people who know the Qur’an by heart and here in our audience MashaAllah we have many Hufas, MashaAllah who know the Qur’an by heart. Even if you burn the copy you get all the Hufas together again the original Qur’an word to word, letter to letter can be produced. Hope that answers the question.

Questioner: But isn’t it the same with the master recitors at the time of Muhammad and the Zaid’s text was compiled only after the death of Muhammad.

Dr. Zakir: that’s totally wrong to say that. What we have to realize that Zaid ibn Thabid he was appointed as the chief of the scribes. There were many Sahabas together, he was appointed as the chief and this was personally verified by Prophet Muhammed SAW and later on at the time of Hazrat Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, it was made into a book form because at time there was not paper there was no pen. It was written on parchment, on bones, on blades, on different material. Then it was later transferred to one uniform material and then into a book form. No where does it say that there were different versions. So all these scribes even when it was written down again when Hazrat Usman when he ordered, may Allah be pleased with him, those people who were alive in the group of the scribes he called them and among them again Zaid ibn Thabid, he was appointed as the leader. hope that answers the question.

Mohammad Naik: Yes sister, can we have the next question.

Questioner: Brother Zakir Naik, Assalamu Alaikum! I’m Namita a kinder garden teacher by profession. First of all let me congratulate you for all your commendable work in spreading the message of Peace, love and brotherhood. I want to ask you brother Naik if Qur’an is the God’s word, if Islam is truly the way of life then why are people taking so long in realizing and accepting it?

Dr. Zakir: Sister’s asked a very good question. Qur’an is the word of God, Islam is the true religion people talking so long in accepting it? Sister, the straight path is not always easy to follow, your perception differs. The perception of each individual differs. For example, a person who may not be following Islam, oh if I accept Islam he may be an alcoholic, I’ll have to stop having alcohol, I may have to stop going out with girls and dating. So then that will prevent him. So what he thinks okay Islam may be good but I don’t want to stop my alcohol, I don’t want to stop going out and flirting with girls, I don’t want to stop having pork. So when you learn there may be certain hitches that may come. May be a person may not be alcoholic, may be he may not be having pork but he may think okay now I accept Islam that means for 40 years I was a fool. Oh I better not accept Islam. Some may think if I accept Islam what will my friends say? What will my mother say? What will my father say? So all these obstacles sister Only… if you can overcome these obstacles can you accept the truth. So therefore what you have to realize that the message is clear, the message is logical, it’s absolutely clear but there are other things which are there in the baggage. A person has to be so strong that fine if this is the truth, I’m ready to accept the truth even if I have to leave my other non Muslim friends. And believe me sister this is only a perception. I know many Non Muslims who have accepted Islam and yet they have got their old friends.

And people tell me oh Zakir don’t speak to Non Muslims you’ll lose their friendship. I’ve got many non Muslims friends also, MashaAllah, they respect me. You have appreciated me, MashaAllah , you are a non Muslim. So my job is to present the truth.

And one more thing Qur’an clearly mentions in Surah Baqrah ch. 2 verse 256 La ikraha fid ddeen. There is no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clear from error.

Our job sister is to present the truth. Whether a person accepts it or not, it depends upon him. If All Mighty God wanted everyone to accept, it’s very easy.

It’s mentioned in the Qur’an in Surah Yunus ch. No. 10 verse no. 99.

If we wanted we could have made all the human being believers, very easy. Kun Fai Kun. Very easy.

But where is the test?

Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Mulk ch. No. 67 verse no. 2 Allathee khalaqa almawta waalhayata Its Allah who has created death and life to test which of you is good in deeds.

So this life sister is a test for the hereafter. Now when a person realizes the truth everything you realize you don’t follow. You may follow 80%, you may follow 50%. There are very few people who follow 100%. Even all the Muslims don’t follow 100%. Some Muslims may have bad habits yet they are Muslims. So what you have to realize sister the major points of oneness of God and believing in the last and final messenger and believing in the hereafter these 2-3 points are the most important sister. And that’s the same thing I’ll tell you sister you asked me the question, I’ll ask you the same question. Then what is taking you so much time to accept the truth sister?

Questioner: Dr. Zakir Naik I would just like to tell you something that here with your blessings I accept Islam and repeat the Kalma ‘la ilaha illallah Muhammadur rasulullah’

Dr. Zakir: MashaAllah sister, May Allah bless you and may Allah grant you Jannah InshaAllah. We welcome you sister and may Allah SWT bless you and grant you Jannah. Aameen.

Mohammad Naik: May we have the next question from the brother in the front.

Questioner: Firstly sir congratulate for arranging this programme. I’m advocate Shivaji Sapkad from Beed, Maharashtra. This programme is peace for all over. I get opportunity to ask question but my question is not related Qur’an. Yes, yes, sir there are lakhs of Marathi speakers. I also marathi. What is the role of IRF means Islamic Research Foundation. What IRF doing for marathi or non Muslims?

Dr. Zakir: The brother’s asked a very good question. Since I live in the state of Maharashtra he’s asking what are we doing as far as Marathi is concerned? And what are we doing for non Muslims? As far as Marathi is concerned I’ll be very frank with you. We want to do but we aren’t doing much. There are some of my books being translated into Marathi by others because I can understand Marathi but I can’t speak Marathi. I mean I should be able to do it. We are trying to make our children speak many languages but I can understand Marathi but I can’t speak. Little bit I can. But I don’t master with the language. May be then I can give lectures in Marathi also. But we have some speakers in IRF who give lectures in Marathi. We have Brother Abdul Gafoor Quershi, whenever there’s a request to speak in Marathi we send him. So what we are doing, we are training people to speak and convey the message of peace in different languages. That any programme is in English and many people know 3-4 languages so the training programme is in English sometimes in Urdu, in Hindi then he goes if he’s coming from South Africa, from Africa then he speaks in the African Language. Many people are coming from other parts of the world from Malaysia they have come, they have come from USA. They have come from Singapore, from Saudi Arabia, from Philippine, Tagaloo, I don’t know Tagaloo, what I do? I convey the message in English I tell them people to convey in Tugaloo. I am requesting you brother convey my message what you have learnt here, heard here to those people who know Marathi. You would be doing a favour to me, InshaAllah. That;s the first question

Coming to your 2nd question what are we doing for non Muslims. Again we aren’t doing much. Whatever limited we can do. There is so much to be done though organization is big, MashaAlllah. We have got more than 2000 volunteers yet I’m saying we’re doing nothing. We are a very small organization, very small. We have organized this conference, we are giving 1st chance to non Muslims because you are our VIP guest, you’re special guest. You today are more closer to me than the other Muslims. Why? Because I have to convey the… Allah will ask me on the Day of Judgment have I conveyed the message or not? So I’m trying my level best to convey personally on this level further more this conference a 10 day conference. We have invited non Muslims and we mentioned on the posters “All faith welcome” “People of All Religion Welcome” but in question-answer session we give them 1st preference, we give them priority so that their doubts can be cleared. Even the Muslims have got doubts. The Muslims, they get angry with me “Brother Zakir what about us?” Afterwards.. kal dekh lenge no problem

Questioner: okay, okay.

Dr. Zakir: Kal matlab abhi kal nahi. 10 din ke baad dekh lenge. So what we have besides giving the message here may be there are tens or thousands of people here now, MashaAllah tens of thousands people. But there are more than 60 million people watching live. But yet we are doing nothing. IRF per se, Islamic Research Foundation, what we should do, we are doing very little. But we are trying our level best. And we pray to Allah SWT that He may accept our humble effort that we are doing in trying to spread his message to the world. Hope that answers the question.

Questioner: Wish you all the best for your organization sir.

Mohammad Naik: Yes brother the next question.

Questioner: My name is Sahil, I’m a graphic designer. I’m a poet. May peace be on you Dr. Zakir. I always wanted to say this. I’ve got a chance by God’s grace today I love you Dr. Zakir, I love you very, very much. And thank you.

Dr. Zakir: Walaikum Assalam. May peace be on you too brother. I too… I too love you brother.

Questioner: Thank you, and I thank you for the ample amount of knowledge I’ve got going through your lectures from my friends, from my sister Nagma. And there is a slight bit of confusion ah… between the word of God and people who believe the concept of Judgment Day. Like there’s a small Question, we believe like the Muslims believe that on the Judgment day that the dead will be put life in them and some of the Muslims believe that it will be on the first night in the grave that the dead will be put life and there will be a Azab and questions and answers in the grave. So I just wanted to clarify this. That’s it.

Dr. Zakir: The brother’s asked a question that there are differences of opinion will life be put on the Day of Judgment? On the Day of Judgment resurrected or will it be in the Qabar? Brother if you read the Hadith that is mentioned of the Azaab of Kabar

Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ale Imran ch. No. 3 verse no. 185 that kulu nafin zaikatul maut

Every soul shall have a taste of death but the final recompense will be on the day of judgment. This life is mere chattels of worldly deception

but the final hisaab kitab, final judgment is on the Day of Judgment. What we need to do that we may get a part of the punishment, part of the reward of this world, part of the reward in the Kabar, part of the Azaab in the Kabar but the final ultimate judgment is on the day of judgment. The final total of good and bad will be recorded on the day of judgment then based on your deeds you will either go to heaven or hell. Some of this will be given in this world, some in the grave but the final accounting will be on the Day of Judgment. Hope that answers the question.

Questioner: Thank you.

Mohammad Naik: Yes Sister.

Questioner: hi! I’m an American student studying culture and theology and I have a question. You said Jesus never claims his divinity in that Jesus was only here for Jews

But the Bible says tell us if you are the Christ, the son of God? And Jesus replied yes it is as you say and then in Mathew 28, 18 to 20 Jesus says to his disciples all authority in Heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Sprit in teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I’m with you always to the very end of age.”

Dr. Zakir: Sister has quoted 2 verses from the Bible the first one which was taken you said that Jesus claimed that he was son of God. did you say that sister.

Questioner: Yes Sir.

Dr. Zakir: Son of God. And second she said that Jesus said go to all the nation. What she’s quoting is the ending last portion of Gospel of Matthew. If you go earlier sister it’s mentioned in the gospel of Matthew ch. No. 15 verse no. 24 he says to the apostles that I have been sent not but to the Lordship of Israel. What you quoted according to the scholars of the Bible, what they say that is an interpolation but whether it is or not I don’t want to argue but then there is a contradiction in the Bible. The Bible clearly mentions in the Gospel of Mathew ch. No. 10 verse no. 5 and 6. Jesus Christ pbuh says to the apostles go ye not into the way of the gentiles, go ye not into the way of the non Jews, the Hindus, the Muslims but rather go to the lordship of the house of Israel.

As far as your first question is concerned that Jesus Christ pbuh said that I am the son of God, sister do you know in the Bible God has got sons by the tons. Adam was the son of God, Ephraim was a son of God, Israel was the son of God. All those who are led by the sprit of God they are sons of God so if you are a righteous person you are a son of God. If I’m a righteous person I’m a son of God that is the language of the bible. As far as calling son of God to a righteous person I do agree that since Prophet Jesus was the messenger of Gods. He should be called the son of God but what do the Christian missionaries say no-no-no-no he is not a normal son he is the begotten son. And they quote the Bible, gospel of John ch. 3 verse no. 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have an everlasting life.”

What you have to realize that this verse of the Bible begotten Son according to the 32 scholars of the highest eminence of 50 Coptic denomination if you read the RSV, Revised Standard Version they say this word begotten is a interpolation, is a concoction, is a fabrication and they are thrown out of the Bible. So Jesus is not the begotten son because begotten means it belongs to an action of animals of lower level. So he is verily the son of God. Son meaning a righteous son, we have got no objection but he is not the begotten son. Lam Yalid wa lam Yulad, he begets not nor is he begotten. I hope that answers the question.

Wa Aakhiru Da’waana Anil Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil Alameen!

Mohammad Naik: Jazak Allah Khair. We thank Allah SWT for making this programme possible we know you have many questions but there are time limitations to the programme. We thank Alllah SWT not only for making this programme possible but for creating this opportunity for a better understanding on the topic. For the millions of people too other than those present here watching us on television who may InshaAllah share some of the learning’s from this talk and question and answer sessions to others less aware. For them to gain better understanding and hidaaya too. We thank all who have contributed and made this programme practically possible for all present here today and for its telecast and those who have come to attend this programme.
